[Tag] This or That

I was tagged by the wonderful Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks to do this tag (she also created it). Go check her out and follow her because she is amazing! (Also, here is the original tag post.)

The Rules:
  • Mention the creator of the tag (Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks).
  • Thank the blogger who tagged you!
  • Choose one of the options, you don’t have to tell the reasons why you chose that but you can also do them if you want to.
  • Tag 10 other people to do this tag to spread the love!

The Questions:

One: Reading on the couch or on the bed?

Can I make a third option? I have this fancy memory foam chair (fuf chair brand if you’re interested) and it is practically heaven. This is where I do homework and read. I also read before bed every night (on my bed), SO… bed & fuf chair.

Two: Male main character or female main character?

This is hard, and to me it doesn’t matter. I think that as long as they are good characters and have a certain level of relatability, I will love them. I like female main characters (especially the BA ones), and feel like I can relate to them more, but sometimes male characters are really fun too.

Three: Sweet snacks or salty snacks when reading?

Can I say a mixture of both?

I feel like I am cheating on every question.

Recently, I had this one snack (practically dessert) that was SO STINKIN’ LOVELY! Basically, it is a pretzel, with carmel over that, and then dark chololate!

Four: Trilogies or quartets?

I am personally just obsessed with series in general. I like how they can delve into the world and have so much character development. I feel like I read a lot of trilogies or 5+ book series, so I am going to have to say trilogies, but it isn’t a discrimination against quartets, just how it happens to turn out.

Five: First person point of view or third person point of view?

This question may very well ruin my life. I think it completely depends on the book and author. I have seen them both done so well, so I claim PASS! If I had to pick *tentatively and quietly responds* first person? purely because it allows me to know the character more since I am inside of their heads, but I like them both so much. I like switching narrators too when it is done well.

Six: Reading at night or in the morning?

Night. I like to get lots done in mornings and if I start reading that will never happen. I read every night before I go to bed because it is relaxing* and helps me to fall asleep*.

*The above statements are most likely not true.

Seven: Libraries or bookstores?

Another hard one. As much as I adore bookstores, and the look of shiny new books all lined up (really helps with my OCD), I am at the library a lot more. Libraries are the equivalent of gold because anyone can get free books whenever they want.

Eight: Books that make you laugh or make you cry?

What if I am laughing while crying. Seriously, books are generally a roller coaster of emotions, so sometimes I do both. I think I would pick laugh though, because there is nothing better* than a witty, sassy narrator who can make me laugh super hard.

* There may be a couple of things, but let’s pretend.

Nine: Black book covers or white book covers?

Does it matter? I adore a beautiful cover, but I don’t particularly care whether it is black, white, brown, or chartreuse. For the sake of trying to pick an answer, black? I don’t know.

Ten: Character driven or plot driven stories?

Characters are ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! Give me a fantastic character and an okay plot and the book still has a chance at 5 stars, but if it is the opposite (okay character, fantastic plot) there is probably only a chance of 4 stars max.

*Note: stars don’t matter much. I was just using them to make a point.

  1. I agree with most if these. I find so many book lovers who are like bookstores all the way!, but i personally love the library just as much of more because obviously i don’t have to pay to read. And its a great way to discover books. If you don’t pay for it, you will be more willing to pick up a book you’re not sure you’ll love.

    • So true! I love both, but bookstores are sometimes too perfect. It’s nice to think about the fact that even though I get to travel through books, the books have traveled places too. It’s interesting to think about the people who may have read the book before you (maybe that is just me). Thanks for stopping by!

    • Haha, I agree! If you would like to do it, it is a ton of fun! I jump back and forth so much between 1st and 3rd person. I don’t think I would ever be able to honestly decide. Food is so necessary at all times. Thanks for stopping by, Cait!

    • 🙂 Yay! I wasn’t sure if you did tags since you are a bigger blog and probably get tagged a lot.

I know *hides in shame*. I challenge you to not cheat at all, though. It’s really hard. Thanks for stopping by, Emily & good luck!
