[Blogging Extravaganza] inspirational, BA, and strong women in fiction

Blogging Extravaganza

This one is decidedly harder. There have been increasingly better women in fiction lately, but there are still a lot of stereotypes and it seems like the “strong women” fit into a stereotype of their own. I am just excited for the day when those go away and people can just be awesome people.

Hermione Granger

Being smart isn’t bad, but it is a strength. “The brightest witch of her age.”

Celaena Sardothian

I definitely mean the old Celeana. I feel like she has changed so much, but she was always extremely strong (literally and not).

Annabeth Chase

Katniss Everdeen

She went through so much, and yet she didn’t give up. I feel like it was inevitable that she would fall a lot and have a few mental breakdowns, but the fact that she got back up again and fought for her family and for all of the people who couldn’t fight for themselves is beautiful.

Certainly onย the BA female list.

These are just a few I could think of (top 5 in a way). Who did I miss? Who would you add to this list?

  1. I definitely agree with all of those you listed. And I love a good strong heroine because it’s much more fun than a heroine waiting to be saved by her prince. I think Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles is strong too and also Meira from Snow like Ashes. ๐Ÿ™‚
